Frequently Asked Questions
I’ve never been to therapy before- will it be awkward?
Not at all! I pride myself on providing a safe, judgement free space so that you can be your full authentic self. We will go at your pace and you do not have to share anything you’re not ready to.
Do you only practice at your office in Raleigh?
I offer in-person sessions in N. Raleigh, as well as virtual sessions for clients anywhere in North Carolina.
Are virtual sessions secure and private?
Absolutely they are! I conduct virtual sessions in private, sound-protected rooms—just like my in-person sessions. I use Simple Practice, a HIPAA-compliant health record and video platform, to ensure your privacy and confidentiality.
What can I expect during my first session?
During your first session, my goal is to create a safe and welcoming space where I can truly get to know you. We’ll have a thoughtful conversation where we will explore your background, what brought you here, and what you’re hoping to gain from therapy. I want to hear your story. This helps me understand how to best support you on your journey.
How long are therapy sessions?
Our sessions will be around 50-minutes and that is including the initial appointment. Consultations are 15-minutes.
What forms of insurance do you accept?
Currently, I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Evernorth, and the State Health Plan. I am also able to provide documentation to submit to your out-of-network insurance company.
How do I pay you for therapy?
I strive to make your therapy sessions as smooth and stress-free as possible. To help with this, I ask all clients to keep a card on file and sign a consent form for automatic billing. This way, you can focus on your healing without having to worry about payments during your session. Any copays, deductibles, or cancellation fees will be processed within 24 hours after your appointment.
Can I bring my infant with me?
You’re welcome to bring your infant to session if that helps make therapy more accessible for you. I understand that being a new (or new again) parent comes with unique challenges, and I want to create a space where you feel supported without the added stress of finding childcare. Your little one is absolutely welcome
